Croatia won the 2018 Davis Cup

Croatia beat France to secure Croatia's second-ever Davis Cup title.
Marin Cilic beat Luca Pouille in straight sets 7-6 6-3 6-3 to give them an unassailable 3-1 lead over hosts and defending champions France.

Marin Cilic was part of the side that lost 3-2 to Argentina in 2016 showpiece and he was ruthless in ensuring his country did not suffer another heart-breaking defeat.
This weekend in northern France, Cilic did not give even a glimmer of hope to his French opponents that they could stage a comeback of their own.

On the indoor clay court set up inside the Lille football stadium and in front of a hostile crowd, the former U.S. Open champion was ruthless and composed. His clinical display on Sunday's final secured a 7-6 (3), 6-3, 6-3 win over Lucas Pouille to give Croatia a 3-1 victory over defending champion France in the best-of-five series. Both teams agreed not to play the final match.
