Alexander Zverev won the 2018 ATP Finals Championship

Alexander Zverev defeated world No. 1 Novak Djokovic 6-4, 6-3 to win the ATP Finals championship and claim the most important title of his rising career.

With the victory over Serbia's Djokovic, who has 14 Grand-Slam titles to his credit, Zverev will climb to fourth in the year-end ATP rankings. The rising star got to the final by defeating Swiss great Roger Federer 7-5, 7-6 (7-5).

Twenty-four hours after being booed for having the audacity to take down a tennis great,  Zverev returned to topple another one of tennis giants.

Alexander Zverev said his ATP Finals triumph was the "biggest title" of his career after shocking Novak Djokovic in Sunday's final.

"I really cannot describe it. It's the biggest title I have ever won," Sascha, as he is known, said during the trophy presentation at London's O2 Arena. England.

The 21-year-old German is the youngest player in nine years to reach the final of tennis' elite season-ending event.

Alexander Zverev has quickly risen to be one of the Tour's brightest young prospects after rising to fifth in the ATP rankings, reaching the quarter-finals at Roland Garos, and winning the third ATP Masters 1000 title of his career in Madrid this year, to add to the two which he had won in 2017.
