Marc Marquez won the 2018 Grand Prix of Thailand


Honda's Marc Marquez took a thrilling win in the first-ever MotoGP Grand Prix of Thailand, narrowly passing chief rival Andrea Dovizioso of Ducati on the final lap and Maverick Vinales of Yamaha to increase his championship lead andtake another giant leap toward the 2018 MotoGP World Championship. 



The battle in Buriram,Thailand went down to the wire between the Spaniard and second place Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) with Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s Maverick Vinales claiming a valiant comeback podium.


The Spaniard World Champion battled Dovizioso during the final lap and cut underneath the Italian on the last corner to hold on for the win. Vinales was less than three-tenths of a second behind the ThaiGP winner.



The victory gives Marquez a championship lead of 77 points with only 100 left to play for in the final four rounds of the 2018 MotoGP season, it also gives him a magnificent chance to wrap the title up at Honda’s home round at Motegi.


The next race is in two weeks’ time the Grand Prix of Japan at Motegi. In 19 Oct - 21 Oct 2018.
